(Foreman scaffolder | 1th Scaffolder | Basic Scaffolder | Helpers)

A Scaffolder is responsible, as part of a scaffolding team, for erecting scaffolds which are adequate for the purpose they were intended and comply with Key4work scaffold procedure, ensuring that stable and in a safe condition. He is also responsible, again as part of a scaffolding team for dismantling scaffolds in a safe manner. It is their responsibility to ensure that plant and equipment is maintained on a regular and daily basis throughout the workscope duration, being a key member as part of the team to deliver a high standard of work on project completion.

We expect you always give safety the highest priority and that you are strongly working together with others. You are a specialist in your area of expertise and you have a proactive and entrepreneurial attitude.

 

ACTIVITIES:

  • erection of scaffolding of various types, establishing platforms and safety measures
  • dismantling and removing on completion
  • undertaking checking/assessing and when directed
  • help to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair; to ensure compliance with agreed codes, law, working practices and health and safety
  • carry out planned tasks in accordance with contract/agreed requirements
  • ensure compliance to agreed codes, legislation, and procedures including health and safety
  • maintain accurate records/documentation associated with your work
  • immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the organisation and/or its clients/customers to Line Manager
  • meet your targets and contribute to those of the team as a whole
  • contribute towards the smooth running of the team
  • adhere to all organisation policies and procedures

You are responsible for your allocated workload and must meet all targets as agreed with your Line Manager. You must contribute towards the smooth running of the organisation generally. Your usual hours will be from 7am to 4pm. However you will be expected to work as and when is necessary to meet the needs of the team and your targets. You must carry out your duties to the best of your ability, having consideration for the needs of your colleagues and the Organisation and its clients/customers. You must obey all lawful and reasonable orders given to you and comply with the Organisation’s rules, procedures and policies

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • to have achieved the qualifications and have completed an appropriate apprenticeship for insert as applicable e.g. Level DNV Diploma in Scaffolding and VCA
  • to hold the following additional certificates insert as applicable
  • to hold the following insert as applicable e.g. PSL
  • experience  in this type of job
  • requisite knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the trade
  • to demonstrate knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations for this job
  • skills in the configuring, erection and dismantling of scaffolding
  • to be friendly and approachable
  • to understand and deliver good customer service
  • good attention to detail
  • a full driving licence

You need to have and maintain (with regular training and updates as necessary) the knowledge, technical skills and qualifications that are necessary to perform your job role to comply with the requirements of the Organisation and any applicable rules, regulations and with any law which applies to your job role. You may be expected to work in accordance with the organisation’s overtime policies.
